| Many Jewish high school graduates continue their higher education in universities and colleges spread throughout the State of Michigan. These students remain in this "away from home" environment for four, six or more years. The college years are the most important formative years at the juncture of their lives where they turn from high school kids to mature college students and then become part of the adult world as young professionals. |

| Israel Learning Programs |
Although Jews are a part of the Jewish people through biological lineage, many are limited in their Jewishness to this alone, while Jewish knowledge, affiliation, faith, practice and ties to Israel are either minimal or nonexistent.
To stem the loss of these Jewish individuals from assimilation, ignorance and a total loss of their Jewish identity, the Jewish Learning Network of Michigan, Machon L'Torah, years ago launched its Israel learning tour series. |

| 400,000 Jewish college students throughout North America constitute the bulk of America’s Jewish future. Unfortunately, the outreach effort to this vital segment of Jewish people has been negligible and uncoordinated. A national effort is now underway to correct this situation. |
